Is Summer really over? | Baby photographer Guildford, Surrey
September 6, 2019
Day two of the girls at school, and I’m sitting in my office with the heating on. Yes really, it’s freezing in here! Summer well and truly feels like it’s over.
We had a great summer, we did lots of travelling in Europe and at home, and caught up with family and friends. The girls even seemed to like each other by the end of the six weeks! On our final day the girls chose to go to the beach so we headed to the Witterings. I am so pleased I took my camera as the day really captured the joy & happiness which I think has summed up this school holiday.
You can’t tell that it was blowing a gale, and I had the picnic rug wrapped over me can you? Or maybe you can if you scroll down to the photo of our dog, you can see the wind giving him a very bad hair day!!
My family and I love the beach, and it made me think I’ve only done a few beach shoots for other families. If you want to capture a bit of a summer feel in your photos, the beach makes a great location. It also works so well in winter too, when there is less colour in the countryside to frame a photo. It’s a place that you can really relax and run loose, allowing me to capture very real moments and connections among the family.
Certainly for me, these photos capture the girls personality and relationship perfectly, even if they ended up with very cold toes and a trip to the groomers for Bertie!
If you are interested in booking a beach shoot, do get in touch. I will soon be booked up with Autumn sessions so now is a good time to think about it.
